Patty Cason RN, MS, FNP-BC
Ms. Cason is a family nurse practitioner with a specialty in
gynecology. She has practiced for 30+ years in a wide variety of clinical settings. Ms. Cason is a contracted consultant to numerous governmental and training agencies including the Clinical Training Center for Family Planning (Title X), California Family Health Center (CFHC), UCSF
Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health, California Department of Public Health Cancer Detection Section, JSI, and Affiliates Risk Management (ARMS). She has lectured and conducted trainings extensively on a diverse range of women’s health topics. She has been published in peer reviewed journals such as the Journal of Lower Genital Tract Disease. Ms. Cason just completed writing a manual for incorporating sexual and reproductive services into primary care settings and is currently writing a comprehensive intrauterine contraception training course for delivery via an electronic platform and on-line use nationally. She is piloting IUC trainings with use of an electronic simulator and is actively promoting innovative patient centered contraception counseling techniques through train the trainer programs and research. She is on the leadership team for a national Sexual and Reproductive Health Work Force Project as well as the Upstream initiative for comprehensive LARC training in primary care settings.
