Amy A Wood RN
Amy Wood has 13 years of experience as a school nurse and currently serves as the Lexington County School District One Director of Nursing and Health Services. In this capacity, she supervises the 45 school nurses throughout the district and works with district leadership to empower staff and students to advocate for themselves and their own health needs.
Prior to becoming a school nurse, she worked as a registered nurse in the stroke unit at Lexington Medical Center and a home health care nurse.
Wood holds a Bachelor of Arts from Winthrop University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of South Carolina. She has been named Lexington School District One’s School Nurse of the Year (2014), the South Carolina School Nurse (RN) of the Year (2015), and was recognized by the National Association of School Nurses as a recipient of the Excellence in School Nursing Award (2016).
An active member of the South Carolina Association of School Nurses, she has served as Finance Committee Chair, Ways and Means Committee Chair, and President.
