Sayward Harrison PhD, MA, CAS
Dr. Sayward Harrison is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of South Carolina. She is trained as both a school psychologist and a health psychologist and spent six years working as a psychologist for public schools in North Carolina before coming to the USC. Dr. Harrison’s research focuses on improving prevention and treatment of infectious diseases and substance use disorder and improving the quality of life for people who are impacted by stigmatized health conditions. She is the Director of the Integrated Care for Recovery Center at USC—a training center that is funded by the US Health Resources and Services Administration to build capacity for integrated behavioral health care to respond to the current opioid crisis. She is also funded by the CDC and NIH to conduct community-engaged research on HIV prevention and treatment for youth.
