Lilian Jarvinen
Lilian Jarvinen received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from George Mason University and then attended The Citadel Graduate College for a master’s degree also in psychology. She worked at MUSC Transplant on their living donor team for four years before transferring to the National Kidney Foundation as their Senior Community Outreach Manager.
In 2017, she donated her kidney as a nondirected donor and was able to meet her recipient (who is from New Hampshire) the year after their surgeries. She is passionate about kidney health and living donation, and hopes that with more awareness, more people will find out if they’re at risk for kidney disease to get the help they need, and that more will also come forward as living donors. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to thriller and crime fiction audiobooks, and is an avid supporter of senior dog rescue.
