Parthenia L Luke PhD, MSW
Dr. Parthenia Luke cares deeply about social justice as it relates to the human right to be and to belong. This passion manifests through her professional life in a few ways: in her scholarly interests concerning the relationship between displacement pressure and health, her leadership efforts to advance more diverse, inclusive, and equitable environments in academic spaces, and her work for capital defendants as a mitigation specialist and social historian. Parthenia earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Furman University and a MSW from the University of South Carolina before working in the field and subsequently returning to USC to pursue a PhD in social work. Parthenia has high expectations for the future of social work research and education and looks for opportunities to be on the vanguard of social change.
