Description
Participants will receive an overview of the health careers, including challenges, opportunities, and options. This course includes a pre-test, assignment, post-test and evaluation. The module objectives are aligned to the following SC Health Science 1 Standard: Foundation of Healthcare Professions Standard 4: Employability Skills 4.1 Identify personal traits and attitudes desirable in a career ready member of a health team. 4.4. Compare careers within the health science career pathways (diagnostic services, therapeutic services, health informatics, support services, or biotechnology research and development).
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Summarize why health care can be a good career field
  • Identify challenges and opportunities in the healthcare field
  • Describe several types of clinical and non-clinical health career options
