Description
Hypertension is a long-recognized health burden in the US, and particularly the southeastern region of the US. Recent treatment guidelines have been developed to categorize blood pressure levels and treatment. This program addresses the implementation of the guidelines in primary care settings with a special focus for clinics serving underserved patient populations. This program focuses on the considerations for implementing guidelines in a primary care setting. Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the hypertension team in the primary care clinic
  • Discuss behavior and lifestyle for hypertension management in the primary care setting
  • Describe assessment and strategies to improve patient adherence for hypertension management in the primary care setting
