Description
This course covers the anemia's, hematology, chemistry panels, electrolytes, hepatic functions, ABGs, and many more! After each section, case studies for the specific labs covered are offered in order to help the participant apply the concept to real patients. Understanding what lab values mean to your patients can help you predict their outcome.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the three reasons for the utilization of lab testing with common indications for each.
  • Differentiate hematology panels with their indications for patient-specific problems.
  • Select chemistry panels with their indications for patient-specific problems within the clinical setting.
  • Choose specific lab tests based on individual patient diagnoses.
  • Discuss patient scenarios with precise interpretations various lab tests.
