Description
This seminar will focus on food insecurity in South Carolina and its intersection with healthcare. Speakers will examine the effects of food insecurity on health outcomes and explore how FoodShare is addressing this through its produce boxes, policy initiatives, and advocacy work. Participants will learn how FoodShare fits into both the food and healthcare systems and gain insight into the resources it provides to mitigate food insecurity.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Define food insecurity.
  • Describe the role of FoodShare in addressing food insecurity in South Carolina.
  • Identify how FoodShare's initiatives integrate into the broader healthcare system to address food insecurity.
