Description
This course is designed to present the core elements of chaplaincy. Participants should leave knowing the difference between a Chaplain and a Pastor. Participants should leave with the baseline knowledge needed for clinical chaplaincy and ministering skills.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify and implement skills needed to minister to persons of different backgrounds, faiths, and cultures.
  • Explain and implement the power of listening.
  • Review and implement HIPPA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Understand the significance of ethics and morality.
  • Explore and discuss the importance of boundaries.
  • Learn the differences between a social and pastoral visit.
  • Recognize spiritual implications of pain and grief.
