Description
This course is designed to introduce working professionals to basic elements of spiritual care at the end of life. Participants will gain knowledge of important spiritual dynamics that affect the dying and grieving process and how to address complex ethical issues at the end of life.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Provide competent and effective spiritual care to individuals and their loved ones at the end of life.
  • Review various definitions of death and the physical, social, and spiritual dimensions of the dying process.
  • Identify important spiritual themes and how they impact the dying process and grief response.
  • Respond to and anticipate cultural and ethical issues a dying person may face.
  • Function as an effective ethical and spiritual advisor for anyone facing the end of life.
