Description
No matter where you work or play, you will run into the heartbreak of dementia. It is a problem that we really know very little about. This 2-hour course will discuss the diagnosis of dementia, learning how to rule in and rule out the various types. This course will also review the various treatment options, focusing on treatment of both cognitive and behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD).

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the common types of dementia.
  • Discuss methods of evaluation for Dementia.
  • Discuss treatment options for cognitive decline based on current pathophysiology models.
  • Discuss treatment options for Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD).
  • Identify adverse events associated with various treatment options for dementia.
