Description
This program is designed to assist healthcare workers in understanding the causes of pressure ulcers and other wounds including arterial and venous insufficiency and burns. The instructor presents the various phases of wound healing including normal and abnormal healing processes. The participant will learn how to assess, evaluate, and stage wounds to identify appropriate wound care products. Finally, the participant will learn key factors in wound prevention, management, and Positive and negative factors that affect healing.

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the different types of wound assessment tools.
  • Identify the correct selection of wound product materials.
