Description
This program will discuss concepts and principles related to the management of blood cholesterol. The presenter will identify evidence-based practice for the pharmacological and non-pharmacological management of elevated blood cholesterol.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Review the concepts and principles related to clinical decision-making in the pathophysiology of the contribution of blood cholesterol to the development of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.
  • Discuss currently available interventions for the pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic management of abnormal blood cholesterol.
  • Discuss currently available clinical practice guidelines for the management of blood cholesterol.
