Description
The participant will learn the current best practice models and how to take appropriate precautions to reduce exposure to bloodborne pathogens.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the three most common bloodborne pathogens that cause disease, and explain how these diseases effect the body, spread, and what the testing time frame is.
  • Define bloodborne pathogen and discuss ways to reduce the risk of exposure.
  • Identify ways to protect myself, as well as, decrease the risk of exposure with the use of personal protective equipment, vaccines, and communication.
