This course will provide participants with an update on current pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic management interventions for hypertension.

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Review the concepts and principles related to clinical decision-making in the pathophysiology of hypertension and its contribution to target organ damage and cardiovascular disease.
  • Identify comorbidities and other clinical factors that contribute to cardiovascular risk and other associated adverse events.
  • Discuss currently available strategies for the pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic management of hypertension.
  • Outline clinical guidelines for interventions based on available research data and current clinical practice guidelines.
