Description
This two-day review class will focus on common disorders seen in the medical/surgical patient and management principles of each. These include respiratory, cardiac, gastrointestinal, biliary, endocrine, blood and neurologic disorders. The participant will learn test preparation strategies, test taking skills and take part in a practice question session to prepare them for the Medical/Surgical Certification Exam. 9:00am – 4:30pm both days

Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify benefits of certification and the various organizations that provide medical/surgical certification.
  • Describe the medical/surgical test blueprint.
  • Discuss common medical/surgical disease processes of the endocrine, respiratory, cardiac, gastrointestinal, urinary, integumentary, musculoskeletal and hematological systems.
  • Identify common emergencies in the medical/surgical practice arena.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively evaluate medical/surgical certification practice questions.
