Description
Participants will learn how social determinants of health contribute to health inequities. This course includes a pre-test, assignments, post-test and evaluation. The module objectives are aligned to the following SC Health Science 2 Standard: Foundation of Healthcare Professions Standard 3: Systems: Identify how key systems affect services performed and quality of care. 3.5 Assess and explain the impact of emerging issues such as technology, epidemiology, genetics, bioethics, and socioeconomics on healthcare delivery systems.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Define health equity and health inequalities.
  • Identify the role social determinants of health play in affecting health inequities.
