Between 2009 and 2015 there were substantial changes in the physician workforce. This document combines three separate data briefs exploring those changes. Findings include a decrease in self-employment and solo practice, a reduction in the average hours worked per week, a loss of primary care physicians in the most rural counties in the state, the influence of age, gender and employment status on work hours, increasing racial and gender diversity among physicians, and more.
