Description
This course is designed to enhance a Chaplain’s skills in ministering effectively in a multi-cultural context.
Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Define the difference between Spirituality and Religion.
  • Discuss the purpose of Spiritual Assessments and how to use a Spiritual Assessment tool to assess and provide Spiritual care for a patient.
  • Identify several different Spiritual Assessment tools and how they function.
  • Identify Spiritual needs and address these spiritual needs appropriately.
  • Observe and recognize Cross-cultural variations in the Experience, Expressions, and understanding of grief, therefore better serving the patient in their times of need.
  • Gain knowledge about the Diversity of persons in the hospital setting and how that influences the chaplain’s ministry.
  • Discuss how much self-awareness plays an important part in ministering effectively to others.
  • Review how important it is to let the patient lead the path and help the patient find their own resources.
